The Rowan Tree
Our winter design celebrates the luscious red fruits of the Rowan Tree.
Bane of witches, diviner of the future and source of jam, rowan is an elegant tree with a mystical history. Its leaves and delightfully red berries are a favourite for rural and urban wildlife alike.
Hand blown, hand engraved glass, in a warm opaque red with a transparent red lip wrap, signed dated and numbered., we will be launching our new design next week. Please join our mailing list and be amongst the first to know.

The Cornflower Bowl

The Meadow Buttercup

Hellebore Bowl
The 'winter rose' is a member of the buttercup family. This year our studio garden has given us a wonderful show of hellebore, with a bright display of the glorious crowns of these elegant flowers. At a time when so few plants are daring to shine, hellebore provides a reliable source of joy as a prelude to spring.
For millennia our ancestors crafted cures for madness and depression using hellebore, though it also gained notoriety as a poison, being implicated in the assassination of Alexander the Great.
Combining an evergreen foliage with a myriad of colours atop a tall stem, this brave circle of beautiful flowers is a welcome sight in the warm March sunshine.

The making of our limited edition bowl, The Sloe Berry

Sloe Berry Bowl

Bramble
We just love blackberries and it’s been a good year for these hedgerow gems.
Our third limited edition of 2018 captures the dramatic dark purple colour of this member of the rose family, with a lip wrap emphasising their deep green leaves.
Over 300 species of this dynamic plant sprawl across the land, creating cathedrals of thorny arches, providing a haven for many small mammals and birds.
Folklore suggests passing through the arch of a bramble would cure many ailments, as do tinctures and teas of its leaves, berries and roots. Still, the gathering of hedgerow brambles in the autumn is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, as is savouring the wine, jam and desserts that follow.
