Natural Light - Grape Hyacinth
Natural light on glass. It's something thats always surprises me... always moves me. Like that feeling you get when standing infront of a stained glass window with the light and colour pouring through.
It's the magic, the essence of the material and something I never tire of.
It's taken me a while to get the hang of shooting the glass in natural light away from the studio set up.
I've still a lot to learn about taking a quality the image, but for me it's always about capturing the essence of the piece.... I'm quietly kinda pleased with this shot of the Grape Hyacinth bowl.

Grape Hyacinth - Seasonal Limited Edition Bowl
These small flowers give me the same buzz as a field of bluebells.
The warmth and dazzling rich, purple blue hues of these tiny blooms are a joy.
They will be the first flower for our seasonal limited edition bowls, planning to launch on March 31st.

Love Daffodils
Been scrumping in my mother in laws garden .... the tortured hazel is just starting to bud... and the daffs are just appearing.
Love their bright colour, a little flash of spring sunshine at the centre of the studio gallery.

Swedish Overlay
It's a wonderful technique for adding colour to the outside of our forms and involves fire and smoke, two very primal elements.
Love this process and I'm looking forward to seeing the final pieces.

Our Doors are Open March 1st - Dec 20th 2022
We have reopened our studio door to visitors with a good show of new unique pieces in a range of colours and a good stock of studio production bowls.
January and February is time spent working behind closed doors both blowing glass and engraving new works.
This year Kate spent time away studying with artist Rachel Phillips and the new ways of working and thinking about the glass are slowly filtering down into the work.
Look forward to seeing you.

"It was a great experience, I was completely out of my comfort zone and learned a great deal from the master of mark making, engraving and painting on glass.
I'm looking forward to see how these new skills and ideas come though onto the surfaces of our glass."
Thank you Rachel.
